SOVIET TO MODERN -
APARTMENT
Interior design proposal for an apartment in a five story apartment building which was developed in the Soviet Union during the early 1960s. The goal was to turn it into a more modern apartment, forgetting the past and moving forward to the future.
Typically in such apartment blocks, the water closet and bathroom are separated into 2 very tight spaces therefore, to create a more spacious room in comparison, the water closet and bathroom were joined and extended onto the corridor.
Back in the day, balconies served as storage rooms and a room to dry clothes. Although the amount of storage was very important for this project, balconies were given a complete remake to become cozy space which one can use for relaxing, reading or working not just storing.
